River rafting is possible on the Indus River, which runs through the area. There are portions appropriate for beginning and intermediate rafters, even if the rapids here may not be as difficult as those in the Zanskar River close to Leh. You can see the surrounding mountains and canyons in all their beauty when rafting on the Indus River.
While not specifically a water activity, you may explore the various glacier lakes in the Kargil area. These lakes include the Phokar and Nun Kun Lakes, which are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and provide fantastic trekking and photographic possibilities.
