Gunji is a small village at an altitude of 3,200 meters in Uttarakhand, India. India administers it but has disputes with Nepal.
It is near the borders of Tibet and Nepal and the confluence of the Kuthi Yankti and Kalapani Rivers at the east end of the Kuthi Valley. The village is on the traditional Indian/Nepalese route to Kailas–Manasarovar.
Trekkers and other travellers may get food and accommodation here, but to reach Gunji, one has to obtain an Inner line permit which SDM issues at Darchula. Travellers need a valid ID, a health certificate, and a character certificate for this permit.
